Samantha Bergman (Artistic Director)
Samantha Bergman is a dancer/choreographer based out of Brooklyn, NY. She strives to explore the art of storytelling using the entire body as an instrument. Her work combines elements of athletic movement, gesture, and expression in order to cultivate dynamic relationships between beings. Previous works include: Muliebris, 2015 (choreographer/dancer), xyz: chain creation cycle, 2014, (collaborator/dancer), what is it, then, between us?, 2013 (choreographer/dancer), and Retorno, 2011 & 2013, (choreographer/dancer).
Holly Heidt (Artistic Director)
Originally from Bloomington, Indiana, Holly studied dance and literature at Oberlin College. She dances for Vashti Dance Theater and has also recently worked with choreographers Henry Holmes, Jeff Davis, Eva Dean, and Trina Mannino. Her choreography has headlined at Spectrum, The Tank, and Trans Pecos, with additional performances at The Living Gallery, Roseland Ballroom, The Invisible Dog, Team Gallery, and Spoke the Hub.
Katie Cowdery is originally from Portland, OR and holds a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Throughout the years she has performed works by Jose Limon, Sara Procopio, Brian Sanders, Curt Haworth, and Christopher Huggins. Her additional training has been from the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Northwest Professional Dance Project, and Batsheva Dance Company intensive. While in New York City she has created her own work for The Tank XYZ series and has performed with multiple choreographers throughout the city. Katie started dancing with Muliebris in 2014.
Emelie Hedvall is a Swedish performance artist based in Brooklyn since 2012. She graduated the Certificate Program at Peridance Capezio Center, Dance Center Stockholm and DanceWorks Berlin. Emelie has performed in various festivals including Fringe Festival NYC (KINEMATIK dance theater), Brooklyn Dance Festival (Yesid Lopez) and SOAK Festival (Thea Little). Currently she is working in projects by Karesia Batan, Lucy Kerr, Vanessa Long Dance Company and Muliebris Dance Theater. At the end of 2015 she co-founded the performance collective emeliemelieemelieadiadiadi alongside Adi Eytan. The collective is a space of independent creation, cultivating a unique approach to authenticity in public environment.In 2016 Emelie received permission to work as an artist in America for her extraordinary ability within the arts.
Natalie King has worn many hats in the performing arts world, including stage manager, dancer, puppeteer, and now fundraiser with the Theatre Development Fund. Natalie received her BA in Dance from Oberlin College and has performed with a variety of fledging and professional choreographers including Pat Graney, Xiao Yu, and Calder Singer. Previous work includes stage managing with Frances Black Projects, Stairwell Theater and Theatreworks USA and performer/puppeteer with the the Hudson Vagabond Puppets. Natalie is incredibly excited to be joining and dancing with all the beautiful ladies of Muliebris.
